IMPORTANT NOTICE – Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic

Grove Road Surgery wants to keep our patients and staff as safe as possible during this challenging time. Many GP surgeries have had to be shut down completely in recent weeks and we are trying to reduce the risks as much as possible. Consequently, we have put in place the following temporary changes to our services with immediate effect:

1) Online appointment booking is suspended.

2)  Advance routine appointment booking is suspended (those already booked will be converted to telephone appointments.
 (if appropriate).

3) All future routine appointments will be ‘book-on-the-day’ only. We are not able to offer face to face appointments without asking the reason for the appointment. If the problem cannot be dealt with via a telephone call then a face to face appointment may be given.
These may put pressure on phone lines so please be patient.
Please do not contact us for routine appointments.

4) Emergency appointments will continue to be offered on a daily basis via our triage system. All patients with respiratory / flu like symptoms (cough, fever, breathlessness) whether or not they have travelled to a high risk country or had contact with a known contact, will be triaged via telephone first by a GP.

5) Automatic Check-in screen at reception will be turned off and any patient arriving at the surgery will need to report to reception first, where a member of staff will ask screening questions regarding COVID-19 travel and contacts.

Please help us to keep our community safe. We are trying to minimise the number of patients physically coming to the surgery, to protect them and our staff. If your medical issue is not urgent and is something that you feel can wait, then we would suggest delaying booking GP appointments over the next few weeks/months.

If you’re not sure, if your symptoms require urgent advice then you can use the symptom checker on the NHS app which can be downloaded here https://www.nhs.uk/apps-library/nhs-app/ or online at https://111.nhs.uk/.

Please be patient and kind to our reception staff during this time. They are doing their best under enormous unprecedented pressure. #bekind#becareful

If you suspect you may have coronavirus symptoms or you may have been exposed while travelling (even if you do not have symptoms), then DO NOT come to the surgery. Protect yourself and others and call 111 or visit https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19
